About the Area

Marbella is located approximately 6 miles west of Malaga and is the suncoast's most luxurious and exclusive destination.

Marbella stretches from Cabopino in the east to Guadalmina in the west and also includes famous areas such as Puerto Banús and Nueva Andalucia. Approximately 150,000 inhabitants live here.

There is a total of 20 kilometers of sandy beach in the municipality of Marbella. One of the beaches is Playa Nagüeles located on the Golden Mile. Here are the most exclusive hotels, the finest restaurants and is a favorite among Europe's elite. The beach is nice and golden and starts at the Puente Romano Hotel until the Marbella Club Hotel. At Puente Romano you will find restaurants such as BiBo, Dani Garcia and Monkey Club as well as the nightclub La Suite.

Something that attracts many visitors is the old town of Marbella, known as Marbella Casco Antiguo. There you can stroll in the cozy narrow alleys and the small squares. The houses are whitewashed and well preserved with street names. The natural gathering place is the Plaza de los Naranjos (orange square) which dates from 1485. In this square you can also find Marbella's town hall which was built as early as 1568. Around the corner from the square you can also find the remains of the old city wall.

People choose Marbella for many reasons, some are attracted by the fine beaches, others by the excellent golf courses or the wide range of restaurants, beach clubs and nightlife centered around Marbella.

There are also shopping centers in Marbella, e.g. La Cañada Shopping Centre, where you will find 180 different shops, bars and restaurants.

It takes about 45 minutes by car to Malaga airport.
