About the Area

San Juan with its approx. 30,000 inhabitants is 13 km northeast of Alicante. Many who come here are very fond of its beautiful beaches and it has become one of Alicante's most popular areas. The coastal stretch is 23 km and here is the large Muchavista beach.

This long sandy beach is considered one of Spain's best beaches. Along the pleasant promenade is Calle del Mar and other popular bathing bays are Coveta Fumá and Los Baños de la Reina in the area of la Isleta. The area has most that could be needed with an excellent range of services and a good infrastructure. The terrain around San Juan is flat to the south and more hilly to the north.

San Juan has restaurants, bars, shops, grocery stores, tourist information, pharmacy, medical center, etc

To and from Alicante it takes about 15 minutes by tram and about 10 minutes by car.

It is also popular to cycle onto the nice footpaths and cycle paths.
