Benalmádena is divided into three different parts where Benalmádena costa is the coastal strip with hotels, Benalmádena Pueblo which is the charming village in the mountains and Arroyo del la Miel which is a lively suburb with bars and restaurants. By the beach there is also the port Puerto Deportivo where you will find a wide range of restaurants and many pleasure boats.
Benalmádena Pueblo is a typical Andalusian village with its whitewashed houses. Here you will find narrow flower-adorned streets. The village is located about 3 km inland at an altitude of 280 meters above sea level and slopes down towards the beach. In the main square Plaza de España there is a statue of a girl pouring water from a shell, this statue has become one of the symbols of Benalmádena. At the top of the village you will find a church from which you have a wonderful view of the coast.
Benalmádena Costa stretches for about 10 km. Here you will also find the marina and the Sea Life aquarium with various aquatic species.
Tivoli World is the Costa del Sol's largest amusement park. It is located in Arroyo de Miel. Next to the cable car. There are both regular roller coasters and modern, slightly scarier rides. There are about 40 different rides to choose from.
Benalmádena has about 70,000 inhabitants.
It takes about 15 minutes by car to Malaga airport.
