Exceptional Townhouse in Calatrava

Description

La Calatrava - One of Palmas most interesting and attractive neighborhoods. This is a historic townhouse in Old Town with a unique character and in the best location within walking distance to the city center, Palma beach and direct bus to and from the airport. A unique three-story townhouse with a lovely floor plan, a stunning interior design and modern architecture in a cosmopolitan feel from the past centuries of Mallorcas history.

The property with its façade facing Calle Calatrava and with a roof terrace, can be found in the historical documents from the 13th century, which show a smaller building that has been rebuilt over the centuries. The arched structure, the portal over the entrance to the house, is from the Moorish era when the Arabs ruled the island. Calle Calatrava is a quiet street in an attractive area, 10 minutes from the city center, with most hotels, cultural and historical buildings within a few minutes walk. Boutique Hotel Calatrava and the new hotel Es Princep, designed as one of Palmas most sophisticated hotels in terms of architecture and design and content such as food and service. A stones throw away is the Theater Municipal Xesc Forteza, Palmas Theater.

This is a historic building in a historic area. It is easy to feel the presence of the century as you walk on the narrow alleys of Palmas Old Town. In this part of the city, formerly an Arabian medina, with city walls and promenades, pirates, merchants, detectives stopped and were at the same time the gateway between Africa, Europe and Turkey. History has shaped the city as we know it today, and many of the older structures carry countless dramatic anecdotes, stories, and more or less unconfirmed stories. The house has thick walls and is from the street as an impenetrable wall that creates curiosity for the visitor when entering the entrance. During the planning, the walls and the houses warehouses and storage areas were examined to take the houses history into account in the best possible way. One can imagine the many events and difficulties in the rooms to find any rationality about the houses change over time.
