About the Area

In the areas of Portixol and Molinar you get a small town feel and accommodation close to the sea but close to the center of Palma. Portixol is the old fishing port that has become one of the trendiest and most sought after areas around Palma. Here are exclusive fish restaurants, fantastic tapas places and trendy cafes in a row, a stone's throw from the small sandy beach and the marina. There is always a lot of activity and people's life here. You often see those who practice stand up paddle and canoeists out on the water. On the promenade you see fishermen, runners, cyclists and inline skiers alternately. It is perfect for a long walk in the sun and maybe finish with a coffee at one of the many cafes. Portixol is around a 30-minute walk from Palma city center. The bus connections are good and there are grocery stores, pharmacies and all other amenities. Molinar is located halfway between Portixol and Ciudad Jardín.

In the past, it was mostly fishermen and farmers who lived in Molinar, but now it, together with Portixol, is one of the hottest areas around Palma. Like Portixol, Molinar is also an active area where many sports - cycling, running, long walks, skate boards, inline skating. There are also surfers here as the waves break nicely in the winter.
